The University of Basrah discussed a Ph.D. thesis on a prospective optimum site selection for a Spillway in Shatt al-Arab 

The Geology Department in College of science discussed a Ph.D. thesis titled A prospective optimum site selection for a Spillway by geophysical and geotechnical investigations in Basrah City /Southern Iraq for graduate student Eman Malallah Jaafar the thesis aims to a suggestion for an optimal site for the Shatt al-Arab spillway controls the quantity of fresh water extending from the Shatt al-Arab to a shallow water reservoir. By using the geophysical methods and bore-hole data were gathered to conduct the aim of study.
